Don’t get caught in the minutia of a task list. You have a passion so get out and share it. Tell others about your intentions. You have a gift that needs to be shared.
Look up your local Chamber of Commerce. Attend a meeting. How about BNI Business Network International)? How about your local Small Business Administration? There are countless local women business owners groups. How about Meet Up?
Face-to-face meetings are crucial. Social media is important but a human connection is a key to success in your local community.
2.Find a mentor: As you network, look for a mentor…another woman or man that owns a business. Find someone that you like and admire. Meet with them. Ask them questions about their start. How can they help you connect with educators and parents locally?
3. Social Media: It is here to stay. Social media can be your best friend because it is free! Set up a business page on Facebook. Think about ways you can inform your audience. As I considered what to wear, my dining room table became piled high with boxes containing dresses and blouses. Etiquette Certification: 3 Lessons I’ve Learned from our Licensees | All of our licensees have touched me in many ways. I am so proud of them. In fact, bursting at the seams proudly.
A new licensee called this morning for advice. The new licensee and I met two weeks ago in NYC for her 2 Day In-Person Immersion training.We posted on social media several times during the training.We posted together as she observed a manners class in action.The two of us posted as we had afternoon tea together at Tiffany’s.We applied all the appropriate hashtags, such as her city.
Our postings were noticed!
Within a week,a local magazine contacted her for an interview.They are interviewing her about the business she is starting.It also includes a photo shoot. WOW!This is amazing press for someone who is just starting a business.
Another licensee is publishing a book.More to come about her in the spring.

Importance of a Fast Start | My first job was with Speedo.Our manager at the time drilled this message into the entire sales team.We even had notepads with “FAST START” at the top.I have a vivid memory of it.
Many of my licensees have a “Fast Start”.Many already have classes lined up before they are trained.
During our training, I tell my licensees not to get too focused on the day-to-day operations.Of course, we believe in the organization and having your ducks in a row but you must serve your passion.Your passion is to teach….. that is your starting point….to get out and teach!
