Today, I am sharing the unboxing of the most unique teacups in my collection.
At the end of September I started a journey to Italy.
My goal was to see the beauty of course, but like most of us…I, too , wanted to eat all the pasta, gelato and pizza available!
The Most Beautiful Teacups in Italy
And wouldn’t you know it, my “passion” had a different intention – it took me down the road of discovering the most beautiful teacups I have ever seen. I admit it, I drank more tea than cappuccino in Italy.
Italy is the epitome of beauty…the food, the people, the countryside AND the porcelain.
The teacups and china of Italy met every expectation and more.
I had tea at The Gucci Garden Cafe, our hotels and inns and places along the way.
But none compared to the experience I had at the luxury flagship boutique of Ginori1735.
I fell head over heels in love with the china and the entire experience of Ginori.
About Ginor1735
It all started in 1735 when Marquis Ginori began producing ceramics in Doccia, in the Provence of Florence.
In the 1800’s, the famous stoia motif and began to be used in noble palaces and this would characterize the porcelain dishes for a very long time.
Ginori1735 is a brand that is recognized globally for it’s beauty, style and elegance.
Their mission is to turn beauty into beauty.

On a very cold wintery day in the south….in fact, a record-breaking snowfall, I started my journey north. All in all, it involved my husband driving on snow-covered not yet plowed streets, airplanes, Ubers, and pickup trucks to get me to Connecticut to teach a high school manners program at Choate. And the trip was worth every minute. Do you know why? They asked for it. Yes, that’s right. This group of 100 students asked for it. They wanted to learn more about so many topics regarding etiquette.
They walked in eager and engaged. Many were from far corners of the world. I met every single one of them because as I begin any manners program I offer a handshake and ask about their day, interests, and where they are from. They in turn asked me questions. Remember, they asked for it and like so many from this generation, are very interested in the subject matter. Especially curious about table manners, many asked questions about dining styles and specifics before the presentation began. Our focus was dining. The students learned and were able to practice American and European styles of dining. We discussed in detail how to set a table and hold utensils correctly. Of course, we talked about how to conduct yourself during an interview over a meal.
Since my business is requiring that I travel extensively now, I made a decision to make the most out of the experience. Therefore, I decided to take the time to research interesting places to stay and seek out the restaurants that locals are more likely to frequent. Wallingford, Connecticut did not disappoint. Wallingford is the charming town center where Choate is located. I found an authentic Victorian Inn where many of the parents of Choate stay when they are in town visiting their children. It is also conveniently located a few blocks from Choate’s campus. The “village” of Wallingford was quaint and everything I expected. The town was about two blocks from the inn. I was able to have dinner in a locally owned Portuguese restaurant and try a cuisine that was new to me.

Have you thought about organizing a school assembly that teaches manners? I had the pleasure of teaching over 480 children at an elementary school in New Jersey. The school created a theme which was called “Conscious Conduct”. For two years, the focus for all students was appropriate behavior. Teaching manners was a perfect fit for them.
Our world today is changing rapidly, and as casual as we have become in our lives, good manners are still essential. Technology has liberated us in so many ways, but teaching manners to children and teens remains crucial to our success as individuals and as a society.
Approximately 100 children attended each session along with their teachers. The students were exceptionally well behaved and so very engaged. I was impressed!
