Testimonials from other Manners To Go, Licensees

Etiquette School - Alissa Etiquette Instructor

Manners To Go delivers! I regret not getting started sooner. The investment is modest for the quantity and caliber of materials you receive, not to mention the personal coaching from Lisa… If you have a passion for equipping young people with etiquette, Manners To Go, is the way to go!

Alissa R., Etiquette Consultant

Etiquette School - Linda Faye

I was looking for charm school-type material for my after-school program for girls and came upon the Manners To Go website. It was like finding a treasure trove of “what-to-do(s)” and “how-to-do(s)” on manners for children. It was more than I could have imagined finding. Lisa’s example of a weekend as a Manners To Go Consultant, on her website, was what helped me decide to become a certified and licensed consultant. It is, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made. In receiving my MTG training, Lisa provided every tool and resource needed to become a successful MTG Consultant…Lisa’s Manners To Go is a great product, and it is a joy working with her!

LindaFaye N., Etiquette Consultant

Etiquette School - Jennie

Lisa is a consummate professional and has been an invaluable resource to me as I begin my new business. Not only is she warm and welcoming in person but, she is also an expert in her field who makes the subject matter relatable and accessible to her clients.  Her training has provided me with a vast knowledge of etiquette and best practices for teaching it.

As an international business operator, I have been impressed with Lisa’s curiosity and questions, which enabled her to advise me and apply her product in a new region for a new audience. Her knowledge of marketing enabled me to hit the ground running and hold my first classes within weeks of becoming certified.  Not only have I opened my own business but I have also gained a teammate who is committed to my success.

Etiquette Certification – Details, Manners, and Modules

Etiquette Certification: Become Trained and Licensed by Manners To Go

Yesterday, I had a conversation with a potential licensee and she asked great questions not only about the training but details about the curriculum and the modules that are presented during our certification.

First, I would like to share with you our philosophy.  A manners program does not have to be stuffy, judgmental, or about a long list of rules….do’s, and don’t’s.  Our approach is one of self-confidence and self-interest.  We use our good manners because of how it makes us feel on the inside.  It is also about putting the other person at ease.

Manners To Go builds confidence.  Children respond to our concept immediately. Many do not even know they are learning manners as our licensees are teaching the curriculum.

Six things I wish I had known before I started my etiquette business

As you start your manners business and when communicating with teachers and parents, you will notice table manners are top of mind.  We are so much more than a table manners program.  Manners To Go is comprehensive. We address it all!  If it pertains to manners, social or life skills,  we go there. From eye contact to introductions and how to have a conversation, you will find it in our curriculum. All the role-playing activities, beautifully illustrated handouts, and videos are there for you.  We promise our program…both the curriculum and the training are much more than you can imagine.

How to Stay in Touch with Your Clients – Etiquette Certification

How to Stay in Touch with Your Clients – Etiquette Certification

Whether you are currently licensed and certified to teach Manners To Go or are thinking about starting your business soon, you may be interested in the links below.  So much is written about manners, etiquette, and social skills!  I thought it would be helpful to keep you posted and tell you how to use this information to stay in touch and build relationships with existing or potential clients.

Most every week, I take a look at the Wall Street Journal weekend edition.  I love it and look forward to seeing it every Sunday morning.  Many times it is alongside a special treat like a croissant or a super healthy quinoa waffle and a cup of tea.  Especially nice is the Wall Street Journal magazine which is inserted inside monthly.

There is a feature every month that is my favorite title, “The Columnists”.  Top influencers (WSJ refers to them as luminaries) are asked what a certain word means to them. This month, they asked the influencers their thoughts about the word manners!  You have to love all the attention to our favorite topic. From Lynn Wyatt to Fran Lebowitz, to Laura Dern – all weighed in on their thoughts and opinions.

Etiquette Business

Lynn Wyatt commented, “My husband and I have two grown grandchildren.  Good manners are as important to their education as their schooling.”

Laura Dern commented, “It’s always thrilling when I meet people, particularly men, whose manners are beautiful.”

Chris Blackwell, CEO of Island Records, commented, “I’ve conducted lots of negotiations in the music business at different periods – at times when I had one foot in the grave and one on a banana skin – where it was important how the negotiations came through.  In all those cases, I always believed in exhibiting good manners.”

Six Things I Wish I Had Known Before Starting My Etiquette Business

Six Things I Wish I Had Known Before Starting My Etiquette Business

Starting my etiquette business has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me.

Being an entrepreneur today is interesting, fulfilling, and challenging and I love every second of it.

Today’s article shares my experiences and what I would do differently if I were starting now.

Being an etiquette consultant, coach, expert, etc., provides so much value.  Children and adults need the skills we are teaching.

We change lives in a way that matters from childhood to adulthood.

Children feel more comfortable and confident when they learn good manners and life skills

How do I  Become a Certified Etiquette Consultant?

This is a question I am often asked and one which I love to answer.  When asked, I immediately relate because we both recognize not only the need for manners in our society, but we obviously share a passion for teaching.

Let’s be honest, passion is absolutely necessary when starting a business, but you also need to have a plan on how to grow and be successful in this arena.

I have compiled a list of six things I wish I had known when starting my own etiquette business.

How to Start Your Own Etiquette Business

  1. Good manners and knowing HOW to teach the subject are very different things.  It pays to have a plan, not only a business plan but a LESSON PLAN.  You can go to Barnes and Noble or find a free handout online, but trust me, it just doesn’t work.  Children are smart and savvy, so have a lesson plan to teach from that work.
  2. Keep your eyes on your own paper. Yes, you must know what is going on with your competition, but keep moving forward.  You know what you are capable of doing. You must be confident in your abilities.  Go out and make it happen your way.
  3. Network and be resourceful. Get out of your home office and network.  Everywhere you go there is literally an opportunity to teach manners or to connect with someone. This is not a controversial subject. You will be pleasantly surprised how many will want to talk to you about it. Not only look for connections for your business but also look for ways to connect with others.  Be resourceful.  If a private instruction client mentions she needs a math tutor, have a name to give her that is in your list of contacts.
  4. Start now and build your email list.  Even if you start with your best friend and older sister, it is a start. Don’t underestimate this important step.
  5. Stay focused.  Focus on one thing and do it well.  For example, if you are in the midst of planning your website complete it before going on to the next task.
  6. Take action.  Don’t let this overwhelm you.  Take one small step forward to create a business you love.
